以阿里山轉運站三樓作為作為創意展演空間與森林選物賣店，本次展覽以林業歷史為主軸，解構阿里山森林的林業文化，並以新型態的木頭藝術創作，重新詮釋曾經重要存在於此的林業歷史文化。藉由此空間展演阿里山的文化體驗，並將當期展覽商品化，期待旅客也能於此帶回一份屬於阿里山的旅行回憶。
Alishan 2488 is a brand under Chiayi Forest Office. It uses the three floor of Alisan Transport Station as a creative venue and select shop. This exhibition focuses on the forestry history and culture of Alishan. New wooden artworks reinterpret the vital forestry culture of the past . The exhibition displays the cultural experience of Alishan, and its works have been commercialized, so that travelers could take home a piece of memory from their trip.

由阿里山五木之稱的紅檜、扁松、台灣杉、鐵杉與華山松為主。多元而豐富的林木物種不僅建立豐厚的森林資源，更使林業成為早期台灣的經濟發展的重要推手。
傳統的造材技術更富含著早期工匠的智慧，以切削使木料表面平整的「刨刀」、彈起墨線即可做線條標記的測繪工具「墨斗」...等，皆為傳統木工行業不可或缺的常見工具，隨著時代演進逐漸式微的工藝技法，追根朔源早期林業的文化記憶。
Endemic species in Taiwan include yew, cypress, yellow cedar, Taiwan incense cedar, stout camphor, Formosan michelia, beech, and Pistacia. These abundant and diverse species not only provided bountiful resources, but also made forestry a driving force for early Taiwan’s economy development.
